V8 Chip #2
Reviewed by Dave, V8 owner in the U.S.A.
Hi everyone!!

Just got finished installing the number 2 chip install from P.U.K. Esprit Racing in my 97 V8.
I have the boost adjusted to about .75 bar. The car hauls ass (it really hauls ass at 1 bar).

I am very happy with how this all works. More than anything the car just generally runs better. The car always had a poor idle. It  would idle inconsistently, sometimes good, sometimes bad. Also the car has straight pipes and it always had a lean pop through the exhaust on trailing throttle. Cold starts when it was about 32 degrees outside (farenheit) the car would start then die, restart it was fine. The chip I am happy to say has cured all of these issues. The car starts right up, settles into a good idle. It even idles smooth a about 800 rpm. No more lean backfire. The car pulls better just driving around town. I do not believe there is a rev limiter anymore. You can rev the nuts off of it. It used to hit the limiter at about 6500 rpm on
the tach before. Now I can rev it to 7000 without issue.

All in all I would have to say this chip is well worth the money. Marcus was extremely helpful and very reliable. Just thought you guys might want to know.

Cheers,

Dave

Hi Marcus,

Just to let you know that I received the ECU last night. I installed it and tested it last night: that's far more like it! It tries to wheel spin in 2nd unless the steering is straight and the road is very smooth and 3rd has real kick now, but 6000rpm arrives far too soon!! I have not increased the boost yet - I need to get used to it as it is I think.

Many thanks,

Paul
